Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebrated, all over Karnataka

The religious, prestigious and auspicious Lord Sri Krishna`s 5244th birth anniversary celebration was held in pomp and gaiety on Monday – 14th night all over Karnataka.

The special Pooja on Sri Krishna Janmashtami was held at Udupi Sri Krishna Math at 12 in the night. Laksha Tulsi Archane was performed by Sri Vishveshwara Thirtha of Paryaya Pejawar Math with junior pontiff Vishwaprasanna Thirtha Swamiji amidst chanting of Vishnu Sahasranaama.

The Krishna Janmasthami was a big event for children in Udupi as thousands of kids decked in Balakrishna thronged the temple on Monday night with their parents. They took part in the cultural program at Rajangana.

In Bengaluru and other parts the celebration of devotees was up in job and fervor. At Iskcon in Rajajinagara the devotees arrived in huge numbers and participated in Poojas and Bhajans. At 12 noon the ritual was performed with thousands of devotees.

At Girinagar Rama Mandir the Yashoda-Rade play, quiz contest, Janmashtami celebration was held, at Putige Math in Basavanagudi the Krishna Janmashtami was in full swing, at RT Nagar Radha Krishna temple the idol of Lord Krishna and Radhe was decorated with food condiments, at Jayanagar, Indiranagar, the discourses on the highness of Lord Krishna were part of the celebrations.

In Udupi the Krishna Jayanthi is celebrated on September 12 and 14 according to Solar Almanac.
