As we all know the cricketer turned actor was once the center-point of the infamous 2013 IPL-6 spot-fixing scandal and was dragged to the high court by the BCCI.
However, after almost 5 years of trials, the life-ban imposed on the cricketer by the high court has been lifted off.
However, this doesn;`t mean that the BCCI is going to take him back into the field just yet.
“The decision of the sessions court to acquit the petitioner from the criminal charges has no impact whatsoever on the decision of the internal disciplinary committee of the BCCI to ban the petitioner from playing cricket tournaments organized by the BCCI and/or its affiliates." Said the BCCI rep.
The Patiala House Court let all the 36 accused in the case, free in 2015, including Sreesanth, Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila for spot-fixing scandal.
The BCCI, however, had refused to alter its disciplinary decision even after the verdict.
