Sreemukhi has told Times Of India that she is shocked over a police complaint against her and Gemini TV over an episode of 'Joolakataka'. The contentious episode was telecast in 2018.

Venkatarama Sharma, a resident of Hyderabad, is reported to have taken umbrage to a particular instance in one of the episodes aired two years ago. In the said episode, Sreemukhi is alleged to have spoken in a "derogatory" manner about the Brahmin community.

An FIR has been filed against her as a consequence. The FIR, say media reports, also mentions Gemini TV.

"I don't even remember what I said in the particular episode. I don't know how someone has taken offence to something that is two years old," she has been quoted as saying by TOI.

Sreemukhi became more popular last year, thanks to Bigg Boss-3.
