The pre-release event of 'Sreekaram' on Tuesday had Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao in attendance.
Speaking on the occasion, KTR said that the producers of 'Sreekaram' deserve compliments for making the film. "Director Kishor B showed them his short film and they came forward to bankroll its feature film version. Farming has become too expensive for so many farmers in so many parts of the country. 'Sreekaram' is a timely film," the TRS leader added.
KTR, who had watched the film's teaser and 9-minute footage, said that 'Sreekaram' is relevant in today's times. "It doesn't bode well for a society if the farmer is sorrowful," the IT Miniter said. "It is not easy to make a meaningful film without it feeling like a documentary. 'Sreekaram' is a heart-felt film," he added.
KTR said that he has been a fan of both Rao Gopal Rao and Rao Ramesh. "I like your dialogue-delivery," he added.
The Minister said that Sharwanand has always done a variety of films, ranging from 'Prasthanam' and 'Gamyam' to the present one. "My father is not just a Chief Minister but is also a passionate farmer. He has always come out with farmer-friendly measures. Telangana has seen what a farmer-turned-CM can do. KCR garu is the first leader who came up with a scheme like Rythu Bandhu. His government has invested in farmers. Ours is the only government that provides insurance of Rs 5 lakh for farmers," KTR said.
"The new generation has to show interest in farming. Pressure should be exerted on the governments to do more for framers. 'Sreekaram' will get Entertainment Tax exemption and I will make efforts towards that," KTR promised.
