'Spyder': Murugadoss averts costly mistake

It's not unusual to see the same idea hitting two creative minds around the same time. Call it telepathy if you may, but it's not uncommon. At least three directors made a biopic of Bhagat Singh in 2002-03.
Coming to Mahesh Babu's next, it's said that the climax of 'Spyder' had to be re-written because the same bears resemblance to a recently-released Tamil movie titled 'Kavan', a satirical thriller directed by KV Anand of 'Rangam' fame. After watching the movie, AR Murugadoss is understood to have felt that the finale of 'Spyder' should be re-imagined so there won't be any unwarranted comparisons. Since 'Spyder' is going to have a big release in Tamil, an underwhelming climax can't be afforded.
Fortunately for Murugadoss, his producers and Mahesh, the climax hadn't been shot. ARM being an intelligent director, he must have re-written the portions without making it sound forced or contrived. The jury is still out, though. Come August 9, we shall know that.
