The Tamil version of 'Mahesh Babu's 'Spyder', directed by A.R Murugadoss, was released during the Dasara holidays and garnered mixed reviews. As there haven't been any releases in the past two weeks due to an indefinite strike called by Tamil Film Producers' Council, the superstar's movie has got considerable leeway and has even reaped profits.

Last weekend in Chennai, the film was screened in 17 theatres with a total of 139 shows earning Rs.21,64,920. Further, the film has accumulated Rs.3,66,47,312 in profits between September 27 and October 15, while the combined profits of both the Tamil and the Telegu versions stand at Rs.4,54,44,369.

It is also notable that the film has garnered about Rs. 26 Cr in 19 days with contributions of Rs. 4.5 Cr from Chennai, Rs. 8.35 Cr from Chengalpattu and Rs. 5.2 Cr from Coimbatore areas.

Lyca Productions had bought the Tamil version for the entire TN territory.
