A 35-year-old man was admitted to a hospital in Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi after he complained of a stomach ache. The doctors were immensely shocked to find eight spoons, two toothbrushes, two screwdrivers, a knife, and a small steel bar in the man’s stomach, which they later recovered.
The man, who resides in Surendranagar in Mandi, is reportedly a psychiatric patient who was brought to the hospital by his family members after they found the sharp end of a knife sticking out of his stomach. The abdominal scan showed the presence of the utensils in his stomach. “We could clearly see the tip of the knife peeping out of his body. When we operated on him, we recovered more things which we had never seen but only read in the books. He is a known case of psychiatric disorder,” a doctor from Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College stated.
The doctors explained how this was one of the rarest cases they had ever encountered. Fortunately, the condition of the patient is stable post the surgery.
