When the first trailer for Zack Snyder's 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' hit online, we caught a glimpse of Ben Affleck as 'The Dark Knight' Batman in possession of what can be said a curious item. The shot being referred to here is that of Batman standing in a graffiti-filled train station believed to be the ruins of where Superman (Henry Cavill) had snapped General Zod's (Michael Shannon) neck during the events of 'Man of Steel'.

The question now being raised is what exactly is Batman holding? Rumors now circulating suggest that the Caped Crusader might be holding a spear. However, this isn't just any ordinary spear, but a spear laced with Kryptonite, an element from Superman's home planet, Krypton, that is fatal to him.

As of now, we have no idea how Batman acquires the weapon or how he will be using it.

Billed as one of the most anticipated blockbuster movies of all time, Zack Snyder's 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' is scheduled to hit theatres on March 25, 2016. The film has a stellar additional cast that includes Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenbeg as Lex Luthor and Jason Momoa as Aquaman.
