The Spice Girls had an unexpected musical reunion this Saturday when David Beckham shared a clip from his wife Victoria's 50th birthday celebrations in London. The rest of the star-studded event boasted guests that included Tom Cruise, Eva Longoria, and Gordon Ramsay, but it's the reunion of the iconic girl band that takes the biscuit. David Beckham posted a video on his Instagram account where Victoria Beckham, Melanie Chisholm, Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown, and Geri Halliwell come together to serenade their evergreen number "Stop."
Formed in 1994, the Spice Girls sold over 100 million records globally and are the best-selling female pop group ever. They disbanded in 2000, although they have reformed on several occasions. Their last quintet performance was at the 2012 London Olympic closing ceremony. Released in March 1998, "Stop" showed their Motown flavor, but it only peaked at number 16 on the US Billboard chart; it failed to reach number one in the UK.
Victoria Beckham had previously marked her birthday on a family vacation to the south of France. However, she had to navigate the celebrations with an injured foot in an orthopedic boot. After the party wrapped at 2:30 am, David Beckham was seen carrying her to their car.
