The Reserve Bank of Australia has printed currency notes worth 2.3 billion AUD with the word "Responsibility" spelt wrongly as "Responsibilty". The wrong word appears in three different places in the note which has the images of David Unaipon, indigenous writer and inventor as well as Edith Cowan, Australia’s first female member of parliament.
An RBA spokesperson has stated to the Australian press that the bank is aware of the error and it will be rectified when the next set of notes will be printed in mid-October. The majority of the notes containing the error is the 50 dollar notes which is about 46 percent of the notes in circulation.
