It has been announced by Chennai Corporation Commissioner G Prakash that the Chennai Corporation will form a special team with 3000 members, and these teams will be visiting a minimum of 80 houses per day for checking coronavirus symptoms of coronavirus.
This decision was made in a review meeting held at Ripon building yesterday, and was headed by Municipal Administration Minister SP Velumani. The step has been taken to contain the spread of COVID 19 in Tamil Nadu. The corporation has also ordered shut down of parks and commercial complexes in T Nagar.
These special teams will be formed tomorrow and the zonal sanitary inspectors will lead the respective teams. Symptoms such as cough, cold and sneezing will be recorded and reported by the teams to the zonal officers. The Corporation has given powers to its Zonal officers to shut down shops where people gather in large numbers.
