While NTR, three letters stand for many memorable roles in Telugu Cinema, they are also key in the growth of Film Industry. The films made by Sri Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao became so magnanimous hits that they started bringing up new producers to cinema with an aim to make a film with him and inspired many actors, directors to produce cinema on the scale and variety that he was able to.
Now, when he was able to inspire so many, can we expect to have not inspired his own grandkid? He did and he even blessed this youngster with his own name, NTR Jr. Tarak, as many affectionately call him, did not try to imitate his grandfather or just act in movies that resemble his old stories. While he did try to grow on the shoulders of the base that his grandfather established, he made sure that he is praised as a talent by everyone and not just Nandamuri fans.
He took a leaf out his uncle, Nandamuri Balakrishna's book and tried to do films that suit his body language. Within three films, he became an action star and Aadi, Simhadri consolidated his image in Telugu households as a major talent. Student No. 1 became an exhibition of his talent after his first film failed but Aadi and Simhadri made him a star.
Just at the age of 23, he was able to entertain masses like an ace hero. But as they say, once grow too big, then you will find it difficult to sustain at the peak. Hence, he had to fall too but he took it as a new challenge to climb another peak.
He made use of the base that he could develop with hits and slowly started deviating from the family image of action heroes and started trying different films. His uncle, made sure that Balakrishna's name won't be just attached to Narasimha Naidu kind of films but to Aditya 369, Bhairawadweepam kind of variety films too.
NTR Jr had to face challenges in trying such variety with Shakti kind of bumper disasters. But he proved his comic prowess with Adhurs, showed that he can pull off mythological roles like NTR with Yamadonga, then tried a very different getup in Nannaku Prematho. All clicked big time for him. But the film that changed his path for good is Temper.
He made a very strong impression on youth and mass audiences with Daya character while Class audiences liked his performance. That catapulted his market and Janatha Garage happened at the right time for him to announce his ability to handle a matured character and stand toe-to-toe with a legend like Mohan Lal.
Aravindha Sametha showcased how he can subtly showcase strength in his voice and his command on handling difficult emotions. As an actor he is a talent that radiates power like nuclear plants and he is multifaceted too as he can sing and cook as well.
As an actor he always proved that his talent and skills are not limited. He seems to be volcano that is waiting to be burst out. May be RRR with SS Rajamouli opens up more markets for him to try subjects like that. May be Trivikram Srinivas and Prashanth Neel kind of directors are ready to tap into different levels that we haven't witnessed yet. Future for NTR seems to be bright and if he uses it right, he may be known as the worthy successor of NTR's crown without any doubt. Happy Birthday Tarak!
