Legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam, who was admitted to hospital on August 5 after he tested positive for the coronavirus, is now stable and continues to be on ventilator support and ECMO support in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). While several celebrities, as well as the general public across Tamil Nadu came together and prayed for his recovery recently, special prayers for the singer were held at Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa temple in Kerala.
A special "usha pooja" for the well-being of the singer was held at the temple. "A musical offering was held at the temple on Friday using nadaswaram (wind instrument), thakil (percussion instrument) and Idaykka (a drum) played by TDB employees Ganesh Thiruvarppu, Sugunan and Yadukrishnan respectively. The musicians played ''Shankara nada sareera'' , a hit song sung by Balasubrahmanyam," said the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB).
