Legendary playback singer S.P. Balasubrahmanyam passed away on September 25th after close to two months of battling with lung issues that arose after testing positive for COVID 19. He was laid to rest on the 26th at his Thamaraipakkam farmhouse on the outskirts of Chennai.

Thala Ajith who is associated with the SPB family ever since he made his debut in film field did not attend the funeral while Thalapathy Vijay who acted with SPB in the film 'Priyamanavale' paid his last respects. This created a fan war on social media that Ajith who benefitted from SPB as he introduced him to his first producer did not make it to the funeral.

Charan has stated that 'Ajith is my friend and also a friend of my dad SPB but it does not matter if he attended the funeral or paid his respects from his house or whether he called me or not. No one needs to build stories around this and make an issue.

Charan also made it clear that the MGM Hospital where SPB underwent treatment did not hold the body as rumoured till bills were paid. He said that he did get in touch with the TN government if they can help and insurance cover was also there. Contrary to the rumours he said that the hospital management did not even claim any pending amount and helped the body to be smoothly taken to their residence.

Charan had also expressed that he is in talks with the government authorities to build a monument for SPB so that the public can pay homage whenever they wanted.
