The much-loved playback singing legend S.P. Balasubrahmanyam passed away this afternoon at 1.04pm after suffering a cardiac arrest. He was admitted at the MGM Hospital in Chennai from August 5th after testing positive for mild coronavirus symptoms but his condition deteriorated first on the 13th night and after recovering a little once again on September 24th.
Superstar Rajinikanth has condoled the death of SPB who has sung many hit songs for him over the decades. In his video message Rajini has stated in Tamil "This is a very sad day as my respected friend SPB passed away after fighting for his life till his last breath. His loss has caused me great agony and shock"
Rajini has continued " There have been many great singers in all Indian languages who are specialists in their language. But the uniqueness of SPB is that he has sung in all languages and has fan all over the country. Those who know him love him more as a human being than for his songs are his voice and the reason for that is his humanity who respected people irrespective of their age and always showed kindness and love.
Rajni has further added "SPB's melodious and magical voice will live on for a hundred more years but I cannot digest the fact that he is no more with us. He was a huge talent, a great sage like human being and I pray that his soul rests in peace. My deepest condolences to his family members'.
SPB has been a lucky mascot for Rajinikanth all through his career and especially the trade believed that if he sings the opening song the film would eventually become a blockbuster hit and it happened all the time. SPB's last song for Rajini has already been recorded for the upcoming 'Annaathe' in D. Imman's music.
