A Spanish singer, Sofia Ellar, accidentally set her hair on fire during a live performance of a Christmas carol with her boyfriend. The video of the incident, which went viral on social media soon after, was shared by the singer herself on her Instagram page.

Sofia Ellar, clad in a white jumpsuit, was seated opposite her boyfriend Alvaro Soler and was singing 'Feliz Navidad' when the tip of her long hair caught fire after brushing against two lit candles placed behind her. Although she was unaware of it for a couple of seconds, Soler noticed her hair on fire and immediately put it out. Sharing the video of the carol, Sofia had posted, "2019, we were good. 2020, we light fires and drop glasses. Hello, 2021." The video went viral on social media where several fans inquired about the singer's wellbeing. Addressing their concerns, Sofia had responded, "You have to learn from these things and be careful."

In another Instagram story, the singer had written, "Thank you for worrying about what happened. The truth is that I'm not happy with what happened, but I have shared with you and that's it. In the morning it will be another day and when I see the derision, that of course, my hair smells like fried chicken, I will put on perfumes to camouflage it."
