SP Balasubrahmanyam's health has deteriorated after showing considerable improvement for several days. The legendary singer has been undergoing treatment at Chennai's MGM Hospital.

“The singer's condition in the last 24 hours has deteriorated further, warranting maximal life support and he is extremely critical. The team of experts at MGM Healthcare is closely monitoring his health condition,” the hospital said on Friday evening.

On Wednesday, his son Charan said that SPB is eager to walk out of the hospital. Despite being on a ventilator and ECMO support, Balu has been awake. He responded to physiotherapy for days.

SPB tested negative for COVID-19 earlier this month. Despite that, some complications seem to have either rebounded or appeared anew.
