After the unexpected and shocking passing away of the legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam yesterday at 1:04 PM, Musicians, actors and many celebrated personalities from across the country have been paying tributes to him.
Taking it to social media platforms, lot of people including celebrities have been posting their experiences with the singer, and Indian chess grandmaster and former world champion, Viswanathan Anand, also posted an important memory of the late singer.
Vishwanathan Anand shared an interesting memory on SPB helping young chess players from Chennai to participate in the National Team Championship in 1983 by sponsoring them. Anand was one among the young chess players from Madras then. Vishwanathan Anand tweeted "Really sad to hear about the passing away of such a great yet simple person. He was my first sponsor! He sponsored our team Chennai Colts in the national team championship in 1983. One of the nicest persons I have met. His music gave us such joy #RIPSPB".
