SP Balasubrahmanyam's demise has drowned the nation in grief. The legendary singer has orphaned the world of music. It's time to remember what the blessed soul did just months before he passed away.
In February 2020, SPB donated his ancestral house at Nellore's Tipparajuvari Street to Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham, and urged the Peetham to use the structure to run a Vedic school. Balu made it a point to invite Sri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Swami to hand over the papers.
The seer also had words of praise for SPB's late father Sripathi Panditaradhyula Sambamurthy on the occasion. It was Balu's father who is credited with making Thyagaraja Smaranotsavams famous in Nellore.
It's said that Balu was into several philanthropic activities, which he never used for publicity.
