Yonhap news agency reports that as 20 to 30 North Koreans crossed the Military Demarcation Line, some warning shots were fired by the South Korean military into the air. Following another border breach two weeks ago, the event occurred during a visit by Russian President Vladimir Putin to Pyongyang in 24 years, the first-ever visit to North Korea.

Media sources reported that a Joint Chiefs of Staff statement from Seoul indicated that North Korean soldiers were operating close to the highly guarded Demilitarized Zone, or DMZ, when a landmine detonated and multiple injuries resulted. We consider it an accident.

Early this month, hundreds of warning shots were fired by South Korea's military against roughly 20 North Korean soldiers who had momentarily crossed the border. The conflicts have lately erupted over North Korea's actions, including balloon launches into South Korea loaded with trash. South Korea then began "unbearable" propaganda broadcasts for the first time since their stop in 2018.

Seoul also borders water areas where North Korea's presence is gradually increasing. Among these operations are laying landmines, moving to strengthen roadways, and building alleged anti-tank obstacles.
