Several south Indian films make their way to the Oscars race following 'RRR'!

We all know that the highly acclaimed Gujarati film, 'Chhello Show', is India's entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 95th Academy Awards. Also, SS Rajamouli's 'RRR' team submitted their film to the Oscars race and got shortlisted in several categories.
Now, the latest hot news is that more Indian films have got a chance at the Academy Awards. The list of 301 feature films deemed eligible for nominations at the Oscars 2023 was released. Ten Indian films were shortlisted for the Oscars contention and five of them were south Indian movies.
The Indian flicks which made it to the list are:
1) RRR
2) Rocketry: Nambi Effect.
3) Iravin Nizhal
4) Kantara - eligible for Best Picture & Best Actor
5) Vikrant Rona
6) Gangubai Kaithwadi
7) Me Vasantrao
8) The Next Morning
9) The Chhello Show
10) The Kashmir Files
Being shortlisted does not ensure or guarantee an Oscar nomination but it is one step closer to the big price. The 9,579 eligible members will begin voting for their favourite among the shortlisted movies on January 12. The process will end on January 17. The official Oscar nominees will be revealed on January 24.
