Indian actress Soumya Shetty, also known as Soumya Killampally, found herself in a troubling situation when she was accused of stealing 150 tola gold from a man she befriended. The man, government official Prasad Babu, alleged that Soumya, whom he met during a movie audition, developed a close friendship with him, often visiting his home and using his facilities.
The situation escalated when Prasad discovered the gold missing upon returning from a wedding. He implicated Soumya in the theft, claiming that she then went on a luxury vacation to Goa. Subsequently, Soumya issued a threat of suicide to investigators, stating that she would resort to such extreme measures if further pressure was applied.
The police intervened, and 74 tolas of the stolen gold were recovered. However, Soumya maintained that she was unable to return the remaining gold. As a result, Soumya, along with 10 others, was apprehended by the police, and investigations into the case are ongoing.
Soumya, an active presence on platforms like Instagram, is an aspiring actress who appeared in the film Shivam. Her arrest for gold theft has not only tarnished her reputation but also cast a shadow over her burgeoning career as a social media influencer and actress.
