Ever since Vijayakanth floated a political party, much was expected from him. The man known for fiery dialogues on screen has chosen to remain silent on most burning issues.

In spite of being the president of South India Film Artistes Association, Vijayakanth did not utter any word in the controversy involving Kushboo and Suhasini Manirathinam.

Finally the actor-turned-politician has opened up. But not on the Kushboo issue. He has issued a statement in Chennai on Sunday condoling the deaths of several hundred in the recent floods.

He has urged the State Governor to take immediate action in securing calamity fund to the State from the Center

Vijayakanth seems stead fast in courting no controversies.
