Reliance Entertainment opens on the release of their next two big releases. This house of the Reliance Group controlling media and other entertainment businesses has its two major releases ‘Sooryavanshi’ and ‘83’, scheduled on Diwali and Christmas respectively.

On considering the welfare of the citizens, the government has imposed guidelines which majorly comprehends the closure of theatres and malls, consequently leading to the soaring release of films over OTT platforms.

Sooryavanshi and 83, the most anticipated films of Bollywood featuring Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh respectively in the titular roles, is lined up to release this year, presumably in theatres. Reliance Entertainment has expressed their opinion on twitter posting an update saying, “We are very confident that the ongoing theatrical exhibition situation will improve much in time for the release of our awaited films, Sooryavanshi and 83, this Diwali and Christmas, respectively”.

Additionally, Reliance Entertainment CEO Shibasish Sarkar has also expressed that, if this pathetic situation continues affecting the theatrical release of their scheduled films, Sooryavanshi and 83 will not delay having its OTT release.

Sooryavanshi is an action film featuring Akshay Kumar in the role of the chief of an anti-terrorism squad, opposite Katrina Kaif directed by the master of commercial cop stories, Rohit Shetty.

83 is a sports drama starring Ranveer Singh in the role of Kapil Dev along with actors like Deepika Padukone, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Jiiva, directed by Kabir Khan. The plot of the film revolves around the first-ever triumph of the Indian Team winning the World Cup in 1983.
