Tamil cinema's leading comedian Soori has acted as hero's friend in Vishal's upcoming release 'Marudhu'. In yesterday's press meet it has been revealed that Soori's role in this film is something way bigger than that of a hero's sidekick or a comedian.
In his speech, the film;s lead actor Vishal revealed that Soori's performance in the film will get him the status of a good character artist. The film's Editor Praveen KL also confirmed that the last 30 minutes of the film will be crucial and Soori's acting in this segment will leave the audience teary-eyed.
The film's heroine Sridivya also said she was bowled down by Soori;s emotional acting in the film.
Director Muthiah has directed 'Marudhu' as his third film after 'Kutty Puli' and 'Komban'. Like his first two films this is also a rustic rural entertainer shot in and around Rajapalayam.
Muthiah said this will be an out and out rural entertainer loaded with action and sentiment. The story will focus on the affection of a grandmother and grandson. He said he can not make a film without sentiment and that will be the core element even if he makes a city based film.
Vishal evinced confidence that 'Marudhu' will take him to the rural audience like the blockbuster 'Sandakozhi'. He also assured that Muthiah;s next directorial will be produced by Vishal Film Factory.
D.Imman has scored music for the film. Velraj has handled the cinematography. RK Suresh has acted as the lead villain while Radharavi has played an important character.
'Marudhu' produced by Anbuchezhiyan of Gopuram Films is all set to hit the screens on May 20.
