Soori has risen to the status of one of the topmost comedians of Tamil cinema through sheer hard work. His recent film 'Namma Veettu Pillai' starring Sivakarthikeyan has earned him a good name. The Parotta fame actor also ventured into business by starting vegetarian and nonvegetarian restaurants named Ayyan and Ambal in hometown Madurai. Both Sivakarthikeyan and Vijay Sethupathi visited the restaurants and wished Soori.

A rumour started doing the rounds that Soori has bought a large bungalow popularly known as Meena house from the actress. Soori has clarified that it is false and he has not bought any property in Chennai recently. On the professional front Soori will start shooting for Vettrimaaran's new movie in which he plays the lead role for the first time in his career.
