WhatsApp is reportedly set to come up with a new feature that lets its users control who can add them to 'Groups'. The addition is being tested on the iOS beta version of WhatsApp.
The new version of Group Invitation on WhatsApp shall have 3 options:
If you select ‘Everyone’, anybody who is using the app can add you without your permission.
If you choose the ‘My Contacts’ option, only your contacts can add you without permission.
But if you choose the ‘Nobody’ option, your permission to add to a 'Group' will be a must, including for your contacts. A request expires after 72 hours.
Once the update takes place, users can use the feature by going to the ‘Settings’ menu and reaching Account > Privacy > Groups.
