Vijay Sethupathi tasted his first major box office success in 2013 with 'Soodhu Kavvum' the romantic comedy thriller film directed by Nalan Kumaraswamy and produced by C.V. Kumar's Thirukumaran Entertainments. The film with music score by Santhosh Narayanan had the ensemble cast of Vijay Sethupathi, Bobby Simha, Ashok Selvan, Karunakaran, Ramesh Tilak and Sanchita Shetty.

We had reported much earlier that the sequel to 'Soodhu Kavvum' is planned and now Thirukumaran Entertainment has officially announced that the script is in final stages and will go on floors soon after the coronavirus pandemic ends. The sequels to two other films 'Thegidi' that starred Ashok Selvan and Janani Iyer and 'Maayavan' that had Sundeep Kishan and Jackie Shroff in the leads were also announced.

On the official Twitter page, the production house had a poll asking users which sequel they wanted naming 'Soodhu Kavvum', 'Thegidi' and 'Maayavan' and as a surprise all three were revealed to be in pre-production already. The cast and crew details of all three films will be announced soon.
