Years before he debuted in Bollywood, Sonu Sood got married to Sonali, a Telugu girl born in Mumbai. They are blessed with two sons, namely, Ishaant and Ayaan Sood. Since Sonali is not media-savvy, not many know about her.

In his latest interview, the actor-philanthropist has revealed that Sonali is a Teluguite. "My wife is a Teluguite. Although she was born in Mumbai, her parents hail from Hyderabad. She has a strong Godavari connection as well. I am proud that I have a Telugu connection in personal life apart from my professional life," Sonu Sood said.

In an old interview, the 'Arundhati' actor once said that her wife was not too keen on him debuting in movies. But she supported his dreams later. Theirs was a love marriage. Their budding love life took roots in Nagpur in Maharashtra. Sonali has also been associated with movies as a film producer.

Earlier this year, talking about his Telugu connection, Sonu Sood said that he never hesitates to say that his favourite industry in the country is the Telugu film industry. "I have always said this no matter where I worked, be it Bollywood or Kollywood. The audience here is just so warm," he told a daily.
