Akshay Kumar's latest release 'Samrat Prithviraj' had all the qualities of a potential blockbuster but it still failed to make a buzz on box office. Despite having a stellar cast, large scale production and elaborate marketing campaign, 'Samrat Prithviraj' could only manage to muster up around 70 crore rupees against its 200 crore budget.
In a recent media interaction, actor Sonu, who plays the role of Chand Bardai in the film, talked about this box office debacle. Sonu's portrayal of poet Chand Bardai has garnered lots of praises from the audience and it is one of the postive aspects of the film.
According to a report in Koimoi, Sonu said, "The film is very special. I got a chance to portray a wonderful character and people gave it a lot of love. I am very thankful to the audience for showering us with their love. It might not have got as much business as expected, but we have to accept that things are a bit different after the pandemic. Having said that, I’d say I am very happy with it and with how much love people have shown it.”
