It`s certainly not easy to convince Sonu Nigam to sing a song, that inevitably goes on to become popular with listeners across the country. The versatile singer quite recently came across a meaningful song to croon and loved it so much, that he instantly gave his nod and that too without charging the makers.

Sonu was so fascinated by the lyrics and soulful composition of the song O Sathi Mere from 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' that he refused to accept his fee from producer Krishika Lulla. Not just that, Krishika and singer Sonu share a warm equation over the years and the singer immediately agreed when the producer approached him for the song.

What very few know is that though Sonu was scheduled to sing the song after returning from a trip to China ,given that it was long and elaborate, he made a sudden impromptu decision to sing the song immediately.

Sonu heard the song atleast 15 times to get it in his system and then took to the studio and rendered the most heartfelt vocal, almost as if he was singing a prayer. Talking about the song says Sonu "O Sathi Mere is a beautiful composition and one of the best songs I`ve sung in the recent time."

Producer Krishika Lulla says," It was very sweet of Sonu Nigam to sing the song without taking a fee. He is one of the most talented singers in the country and it was an honor to have him sing for 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns'. He has added a new dimension to O Sathi Mere".
