Sonia Gandhi to be 'exposed' in Hindi film

'The Accidental Prime Minister', starring Anupam Kher as Manmohan Singh, is an upcoming Hindi movie. To be released on January 11, it is based on a book written by Sanjay Baru, former PM's media adviser.
The film shows how Sonia Gandhi, the then Congress President, overpowered the Prime Minister, the PMO and even the Cabinet through the National Advisory Council. Going by the no-holds-barred trailer released today, the movie surely exposes the self-interest displayed by Sonia (played by Suzanne Bernert) from time to time. Rahul Gandhi's personal glory becomes more important than national interest at times. Akshay Khanna plays Sanjay Baru in this film.
Is it a propaganda movie? Says Hansal Mehta, the film's creative producer, "In spite of differing political views of many of us I've never seen this project as a film that takes sides. I see it as an important cautionary tale, a drama about a democracy that has always been bogged down by personality cults."
