Senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi was on Friday admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi. For hours, suspense prevailed over the reason for her hospitalization.

The hospital authorities later declared that the former Congress President was admitted for treatment for fever. Her condition, as per well-considered medical reports, is stable. Preliminary tests were conducted to rule out any flu. She has been treated by Dr Arup Basu and others.

Recently, reports speculated that Sonia Gandhi would be retiring from active politics soon. However, the speculations turned out to be false. She will very much be contesting from Rae Bareli in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections despite her health not being in perfect shape. Her son, Rahul Gandhi, will be contesting once again from Wayanad in Kerala. He is expected to win by a big margin. In contrast, Sonia is speculated to be on a weak wicket. It's said that the BJP is going to spare no efforts to defeat her.
