Song Review: Saiyaan (Mehbooba)

Bhaskarabhatla's lyrics are like the breeze the love-stricken girl mentions in the song. The lines seem to tap their fingers and the words hit us like a cool breeze.  The line 'Gunde thalupe muyyalante, kudharani panile saiyaan' is memorable.

Sandeep Chowta's sound is something Telugu cinema has not explored fully.  The musician brings a couple of influences and makes 'Saiyaan' an instant hit.  The deployment of instruments and the classical touch in the stanzas work to an evocative effect.  Ambika Jois has the right voice to carry a song that has an air of celebration and liberation about it.

Directed by Puri Jagannadh, this cross-border love story stars Akash Puri as the hero.  It will hit the screens on May 11.
