Krishna Madineni's lyrics tell the emotional catharsis of a mother in a complex language. 'Dhimpesina bharamey, swaasai kalisey' is the song's best line. As it is, the entire song is story-based.

Swagatha S Krishnan's voice has a certain maturity that is so apt for the heavy-duty song. There is a touch of the old-fashioned about it. And the voice goes a long way in making the song feel like a product from a bygone era.

Sam CS's music needn't be given an unconditional pat, for it does borrow influences rather directly. The melody has highs and lows.

Directed by AL Vijay, 'Kanam' stars Sai Pallavi and Naga Shourya in the lead.
