Song Review: Inkem Inkem (Geetha Govindam)

It seems the tempo of this song was tried by AR Rahman and Deva in the 1990s Tamil cinema. The classical touch is there for everyone to see. 'Inkem Inkem' is conceived as the lover boy's expression of mirth when the girl becomes his, but the 'raga' is more than exalting for the mood.

Ananth Sriram pens lyrics that are a cross between cerebral and everyday language. If there are not-so-regular words, there are also terms like Lava that are routine. Sid Sriram's voice comes with a tinge of offbeat.

'Geetha Govindam', starring Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, is directed by Parusuram. The rom-com will be out in the theatres on Aug 15.
