Sonam loses out to Katrina

Actress Katrina Kaif's thick British accents seems to be finally working in her favour! The slender beauty recently landed a role in Dibakar Banerjee's next film, which Sonam Kapoor had her heart set on. Sources say that Sonam badly wanted to work with the director of the hit movie Oye Lucky Lucky Oye, and had approached him through actor Abhay Deol.

Abhay has currently been cast opposite Sonam in her dad Anil Kapoor's productionAyesha. The persistent lass then had her father invite the director home and show him a reel prepared specially for an international project. Simultaneously Katrina also approached the director for the role.

Though the Khosla ka ghosla director was keen on working with Sonam, his project was specifically tailored for a heroine with a 'firangi' accent, and Katrina fit the bill perfectly. Kat has been cast opposite Imran Khan and Abhay Deol.
