It was a moment of daughter representing her dad and indeed a father beholding the award in honour of his son. Certainly, the occasion of 55th National Awards witnessed Sonam Kapoor and producer Yash Chopra receiving the awards as a gesture of representing their family members.

Aditya Chopra’s ‘Chak De India’ was titled as the ‘Best Film’ for 2007 and his father-producer Yash Chopra gleefully received the award as his son couldn’t make it up for the occasion. Similarly, Anil Kapoor adjudged as ‘Special Jury Award’ for ‘Gandhi – My Father’.

Shreya Ghosal enthralled the gathering as she rendered a Live performance of ‘Yeh Ishq Hai’ from ‘Jab We Met’ and later won ‘Best Female Playback Singer’ award for the same song while Saroj Khan was represented by Shabnam Khan on ‘Best Choreography’ for the same song.

Well, it was precisely an unusual juncture where the recipients weren’t present to receive the honourable awards.
