Starlet Sonakshi Verma is in the news for an atypical reason. She has become the victim of online fraud.
Back in May, the woman received a friend quest on Facebook from a Nigerian national. The guy said that he lives in London and that he would like to do friendship with her. The duo engaged each other on Messenger for several weeks. One fine day, the guy told Sonakshi that he would like to send her a gift to mark their growing friendship.
A few days later, a caller called up Sonakshi and told her he is from the Delhi airport in possession of a parcel from London. He asked the actress to pay Rs 85,000 online so that she can receive the gift. Sonakshi believed it to be true and paid the amount. Since she didn’t receive the gift even after a week, the actress called up the person in Delhi, only to realize that the number is switched off.
The actress has lodged a complaint with the Cyber Crime police.
