Unfortunately, due to the unfortunate prevalence of trolling related to their inter-faith marriage, the couple decided to turn off the comment section. The wedding took place at Sonakshi's house in Mumbai under the Special Marriage Act. Now, Sonakshi and Zaheer are eagerly preparing to celebrate their union with friends from the film industry at a grand wedding reception scheduled for tonight, June 23.

Despite earlier speculations, Zaheer's father clarified that Sonakshi had no plans of converting to Islam. Sonakshi's father, Shatrughan Sinha, who was initially reportedly upset with the sudden wedding plans, attended the ceremony with his wife, Poonam Sinha, showing their support. The reception has already seen the arrival of guests such as Huma Qureshi, Saqib Saleem, and Zaheer's parents.
