Son tries to kill farmer-father over debts

Moolaswamy Naidu is a debt-ridden farmer from East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh. His youngest son, Rammanohar Naidu, doesn't like the fact that his father has loaned amounts indiscriminately. The duo had a heated conversation over the unsustainable debts on Monday.
On Tuesday morning, this son became violent and attacked his father by hitting him with a boulder. He later tried to slit his throat with a knife. The scared father somehow survived his son's macabre attack.
While the father has been admitted to a hospital in Kakinada by his neighbours, the son tried to attempt suicide by jumping off into a nearby river, only to be stopped by a tree. He fell unconscious, and onlookers saved him.
