While the lockdown has been effected to break the chain of Coronavirus infection, it has left some people in a tragic state as well. The daughter of a man in Karnataka's Hubballi performed his last rites as his son was stuck due to the mandatory nationwide lockdown.

Ashok Chauhan, 60, died on Sunday at KIMS hospital, following which his body was shifted to the graveyard in an ambulance. The cremation took place in the presence of just 10 members as the lockdown is in place.

Ashok's son works as a daily wage labourer in Gadag was stuck there due to the lockdown, and could not make it to the funeral unfortunately. As people present in the funeral started discussing on who should light the funeral pyre, Ashok's daughter came forward and performed the final rites. Ashok was working as a cook in a hotel and while he was returning from work, he fell on the road and was shifted to KIMS hospital where he passed away after two days.
