The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on Monday, appointed MLC Somu Veerraju as its Andhra Pradesh unit president. Jagath Prakash Nadda, the national president of the party replaced incumbent president Kanna Lakshminarayana with Veerraju on Monday.
Veerraju was a front runner for the state president post two years ago itself when Kanna Lakshminarayana’s entry entrant to the BJP literally snatched it away.
Things have started changing after JP Nadda has taken over the reins of the national party as the internal groups started working over-time to replace Kanna for several months now.
Also, he has completed 2 years of his term as president and has expected another term. Well, Nadda decided to go with old guard Somu Veerraju, who is believed to have had a good rapport with the top brass of RSS.
S Vishnuvardhan Reddy, who is BJP state vice-president and Nehru Yuva Kendra national vice-chairman, has welcomed the appointment of Somu Veerraju as state president.
