Something Something Unakkum Enakkum
After a quiet outing in his last three movies, Jeyam Ravi is hoping that he would pull it off in the company of his brother director Raja through Something Something Unakkum Enakkum.
It is a remake of the Telugu blockbuster Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana, which was directed by choreographer-actor-director Prabhu Deva.
Ravi is paired with Trisha in this movie that is being produced by Ajay Kumar of Lakshmi Productions along with Editor Mohan.
Trisha, who got to do the original and now the remake of the blockbuster, is on familiar ground.
Understandably, she was excited to be part of a successful project drawing the sentiment angle. 'When you get a second chance, it helps to give an added sheen to the character. But you have to keep in mind the audience taste, varying from one place to other.'
Director Raja knows a thing or two of the sweet fragrance of success. Back-to-back he came up with stupendous hits - after Jeyam it was M Kumaran S/o Mahalakshmi.
Devi Sri Prasad, who has come to terms with the Tamil audience, will compose the musical score for the Tamil version too.
The movie is all about Ravi, who plays a NRI, falling in love with a young girl in a rural village played by Trisha. Enters her brother who opposes their affair. The rest is about how wins over the heart of Trisha's brother. An oft-repeated theme, but has enough commercial elements and sentiments in it to attract film-buffs, says Raja.
The highlight of the movie is Prabhu playing Trisha's brother. In Telugu Sri Hari played the role and won the admiration of the masses.
A huge star cast comprising Richa Pallod, Thejasri, Kalabhavan Mani, Autograph fame Mallika forms part of the movie. The movie is shot in foreign locations, interior villages and urban locales in Tamilnadu.
The art-director G C Anandhan came up with over 30 different sets for the movies, which is a rarity these days in Tamil films, he added.
‘Another major highlight is that we hired a 500 acre of land in a remote village. We started to sow seeds, grow crops and even harvested it. We have captured all these on the camera. It would be eye-catching’, says Raja.
Having completed the shooting, we are hopeful off having the movie released soon, he added.
