Dubbing artist Savitha Reddy has been around for more than two decades. Her dubbing for star heroines such as Trisha, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Kajal Aggarwal and Simran is acclaimed. When 'Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana' hit the screens in 2004, Trisha's voice was believed to be her own. Savitha had to speak pages of lines to dub for Simran in films like 'Narasimha Naidu'. Dubbing for Genelia in 'Bommarillu' and 'Orange' was a memorable experience. For Jyothika, she dubbed in 'Chandramukhi' and 'Mass'; the latter fetched her a Nandi Award. 'Nuvve Kavali' and 'Nuvvu Naku Nacchav', too, fetched her awards. She has been settled in the US for many years.

In an exclusive chit-chat with IndiaGlitz, the renowned dubbing artist has spoken of what it takes to dub. In a passing manner, she also commented that dubbing becomes hard when the heroine in question didn't speak the lines properly on set or she spoke 'blah blah', quite literally! "If the actress' lip movement is correct, a dubbing artist can sync her voice well. But the actresses don't always do that. They just blabber sometimes to manage the scene if they don't know Telugu. It is understandable. Can we speak in a language we don't know?" she says.

"A dubbing artist needs to have a good memory. Without memory power, you would face hardships," Savitha adds.

Many years after dubbing for Bhumika in films like 'Kushi' and 'Missamma' Savitha did so for 'MCA'. "Bhumika insisted that only I should dub for her. I have also enjoyed dubbing for Aishwarya Rai and Ileana. Dubbing for the latter in 'Pokiri' was enjoyable. I like Mahesh Babu's attitude in that film. There are some films whose dubbing was great. 'Yevade Subrahmanyam' is close to my heart," Savitha says.
