Ali is not leaving any stone unturned to be in the good books of the Telugu audiences. He is playing comedy roles and at the same time grabbing every opportunity to play hero in films.

Presently, his film 'Somberi' (Sobhanaaniki Kuda Baddhakistaadu), directed by Jonnavithula Ramalingeswara Rao and produced by Yerramilli Venkat Rao on the banner of Raosen Films with Ruksha in the female lead, is all set for release.

Producer Venkat Rao says, 'There is a very good story for our film and we are trying to give a nice message to the audiences in general, besides good entertainment.'

The writer-turned-director says, 'There is a song on the problems faced by the Indian labourers in Dubai. The song was picturised on Ali and it was rendered by Shankar Mahadevan. The song would remain a highlight of the movie.'

Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam, Srinivasa Reddy, Duvvasi Mohan, Tanikella Bharani and others are in the cast. Camera is by MV Raghu, editing is by GG Krishna Rao, while music is by Mano.
