"The time has come to put the philosophy of singledom to test," the makers of 'Solo Brathuke So Better' say, releasing the rom-com's trailer. Debutant director Subbu seems to have made his hero Virat (played by Sai Dharam Tej) idolize Narayana Murthy, the filmmaker. Reason? The angry director of Communist movies is single. So also late Abdul Kalam and late Vajpayee. But when Murthy appears on TV and advises people to get married at the right age, it's a heart-break moment for Virat.
Starring Nabha Natesh of 'iSmart Shankar' fame as the heroine, the entertainer has Rao Ramesh playing a 'To hell with marriage' uncle. Rajendra Prasad, Ajay and VK Naresh, too, are part of the cast. Comedians Vennela Kishore and Satya are also seen.
Dialogues that allude to marriage resulting in the end of freedom are hardly novel. But if the comedy works, the film will be through.
With music by Thaman, its cinematography is by Venkat C Dilip.
This is going to be the first major Telugu release since the reopening of theatres in the Telugu States. The BVSN Prasad production will hit the screens on December 25. All eyes will be on the rom-com for obvious reasons.
