Solli Adippen
Comedians have never been successful heroes. Though comic-heroes are able to sustain at the box office the public at large is not ready to accept a comedian doing heroic acts. However villains are easily accepted as heroes. Trying to break this concept is Comedian Vivek who turns hero in 'Solli Adippen' with Chaya Singh as his leading lady. And making his debut as a director is S A C Ramki, art director and assistant to S A. Chandrasekhar in many of his films and also designed the sets for films like 'King', 'Dhum'', 'bhagwathi', and Thiruda Thirudi '. Ramki also pens the story and the screenplay for this film.
To make a success of your life, it's necessary to do proper planning. Anything in life can be achieved by proper planning, goes the theme of the film. When Ramki approached Vivek with the story, wanting him to play the lead role, Vivek, busy with his assignments, was reluctant at first. But, after hearing the script, he promptly accepted the film. Then Ramki narrated the script over phone to Chaya Singh who was shooting in Hyderabad. The actress was impressed too, and unmindful of the fact that Vivek was the hero, agreed to do the film. For the second lead, Ramki chose Tejashri, and the actress even learnt Tamil as per the director's instructions. Ashish Vidhyarthi is playing the villain. The other artistes are Delhi Ganesh, Chinny Jayanth, Mayilsamy, Aditya Shanker, Thara and Jaya Murali
Vivek who is paired with Chaya and Tejashree both accomplished dancers took special lessons in film dancing. He has also done away with dupes for fight scenes. While shooting a stunt scene with bikes led to Vivek getting injured . He was out of action for one month. The film's shooting is on at Trichy, Chennai, Madurai, Bangalore, Yercaud and Thiruvanthapuram.
There are six songs in the film and they have been composed by Deva. Keeping in tune with the current practice of heroes turning singer one song has been sung by Vivek. Another was recorded in Mumbai with Udit Narayan.
The film is produced by S. K. Krishnakanth for his Indian Theater Productions, the banner that produced films like ' Thiruda thirudi ', 'Puthukotayil Saravanan' 'Machi' and also has on the floors films like ' Manmadhan' and Cheran's 'Touring Talkies'.
The technical credits for the film include cinematography by B Mathi, editing by Satish, J N Harsha, art work by Murugansri, dance choreography by Dinesh and stunts by Jaguar Thangam.
