Sohum Shah has proved his capabilities as an actor time and again. Although he hasn't been on forefront of as many films but his performances shine in all the projects he has worked on. He work was appreciable in investigative thriller 'Talwar' and philosophical film 'Ship Of Theseus'. After that he gave a phenomenal performance in the cult classic 'Tumbbad'. Now is back with another interesting character and this one is based on a real life politician.

Shah is going to portray Lalu Prasad Yadav in an upcoming web show titled 'Maharani'. A source close to the development shared, "Getting the psychology right of one of the biggest politician of India was the most challenging thing for him. Lalu Ji is one of the most powerful politician in Indian history and him even waving his hand was more than enough to denote the power he commanded and so to get that persona right was very difficult yet a good experience. He hopes he can replicate the energy of the man that is Lalu Prasad Yadav as it is as challenging as a role can get.”

Sohum is prepping intensely for the character. To look accurate for the part, he gained 12 kilograms of weight. Apart from this, he'll also be seen as a cop in Reema Kagti's web show 'Fallen'.
