Soggade Chinni Nayana

Nagarjuna has been on an experimentation spree.  After a slew of experimental roles like in 'Rajanna', 'Damarukam', and 'Manam', Nag is back to pushing the envelope.  (Watch this space for Nag's outing with Vamsi Paidipally and Karthi).

Debutante Kalyan Krishna is directing 'Soggade Chinni Nayana', a film in which the actor is seen playing dual roles - that of a grandfather and a grandson.  Paired opposite him are Ramya Krishna and Lavanya Tripathi.  Ever since the release of the audio, the curiosity around the film has only increased.  If Ramya Krishna is high on the success of 'Bahubali', Lavanya is not far behind with 'Bhale Bhale Mogadivoy' in her kitty.

Produced by Nag himself, this one has music by Anup Rubens.  Slated for a Sankranthi release, the film has Brahmanandam's presence going for it.  The trailer has caught everyone by surprise because of Nagarjuna's ostensibly distinct avatar, complete with an unconventional role.

True to its rural-flavoured title, the film is set in a village backdrop.  PS Vindo's cinematography and Prawin Pudi's editing are to be watched out for.

Will Nag reinvent himself with this film?  Well, going by the fact that his choices have matured over the years, one can surely expect that.  On a lighter vein, the young Nag in this film should make one say 'Soggade Chinni Nagarjuna'.
